My work with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the subseqeuent reintroduction of the elk into the GSMNP is absolutely one of the major highlights of my life. It is still a thrill to get to drive a short distance from my home in Cherokee to see the elk roaming the Big Cove area or to the Cataloochee Valley in the Park to see the larger herd. AWESOME!
