William Earl Parton Sr. homeplace in Elkmont 1911. Pictured are William Earl Parton Jr., Edward Bruce Parton, William Earl Parton Sr., Joel Whaley (William Earl Parton Sr. Father-in Law) and William Earl Parton Sr. "Red Racer" in front of the house! Although this "Old Homeplace" is long gone,the big rock that was next to the back porch that all the kids would slide down, is still there, I know because my Grandmother Margaret Parton Reagan ( daughter of William Earl & Louvisha Parton Jr.)showed it to me in 1992, and it took me 25 years to find it and I sat on it 9-11-07! The rose bush, that Louvisha planted by the fence next to the road is still growing after all these years! What a blessing this is to me.
